Denouement By Pratishtha Khattar

This is not a lull before the storm; there is no darkness lurking in hindsight. This is not a forbidden fruit; there is no impending sin I will pay for. This is not a tolling bell; there is no morbid death of hope tonight.

This is resolute joy; there is serene light spilling into every dark corner. The 11-11 dandelions have landed at his doorstep; the stars are breaking in his eyes; that night I wore lady bug red & I cried before we kissed.

I will not doubt this joy; I will not question this peace. This is mine. I am brimming. I have finally found you as you have finally found me.
