Unsaid By Supriya Sugumar

The sunrays illuminated a part of the corridor. Her hazelnut eyes glistened as she watched him cross the road.

In blue striped shirt and a pair of jeans he marched towards her. It was her last day at work.

She hugged him, he lent forward and graciously let her in, her right hand placed on back of his left shoulder and her right cheek on his left, she whispered into his ears “goodbye”. He sank back on the railing and smiled.

She told him, “We had an amazing work rapport and similar interests yet I couldn't open up to you and become friends”

He said “It’s okay you took time”. She thought to herself, if she should confess. The phone in her hand buzzed. He said, “I think you should take it”. She did, it was her cab.

She turned around, he completely let her in to give him a final hug, her body rested gently against his for a second and she let herself out, said her final goodbye. They spoke yet things were unsaid.
